What a Week!

Well this past week and weekend especially has been so very weird. Lets Start the week, but first I've really been taken with the new iTunes where you can subscribe to Podcasts. I've been listening to Adam Curry's Daily Source Code every day and it's a good show, the 'mashup's' he plays are great!

Monday: Easy normal day. Actually ended up lifting items out of our basement all day. At night it was Ski Training and we went for a long bike ride.

Tuesday: More Lifting, then went Canoeing for almost 2.5 hours.

Wednesday: Nothing much happened as I don't remember it that well. But at 7 we did 400m sprints, 5 of them at Evan Hardy's track. well well grown over dirt path as there are lots of weeds to run through.

Thursday: Can't remember again. Must of been fun as I went canoeing at night for an hour.

Friday: Rest day for training. DJ'ed a wedding dance at the Raddison. Very irish crowd but you could really tell other than when they had some of the students of the bride come in and do some irish dancing. Then they grabbed people and taught them how to dance and had a good 5 minutes of mayhem, it was hilarious.

Well you may have been asking why I would be DJing on Friday instead of Saturday. Well one of the reasons is that I had Two canoe races on the weekend on saturday at 2 and Sunday at 9. this is what transpired.

Saturday. Got up, Dropped equipment off at Gil's (my boss), then headed over to the race. Competed in the race with Eddie. We finished not too bad, we just had problems keeping our stroke rate up. Then got home at about 5:20. Got a call at 5:30 to see if I could drive down to Regina to Dj a dance as there was some emergency down there. So drove down, DJed the dance (which had a free bar!) then dropped equipment off at some guys house at 2 AM, i was going to crash there too but decided not too. Then drove home. got in at 4:47 AM Sunday

Sunday: Got up at 8 to go to the race. But instead i got out of bed. Looked out my window. and fell back in my bed and fell asleep till about 2 or 3.

So as you can tell I was very tired Sunday and missed the race which did suck, but I did get paid to DJ so that makes up for it.

Monday: Ski training was a 1 hour run and more core strength stuff. I was hurting afterwards, darn Physio Terrorist. During the day I dismanteled our Pantry shelf to make way for plumbber.

Tuesday: Today I used a Manual (I must stress the Maunal aspect) Auger to dig 7 foot holes along the side of the house to insert some weeping tiles vertically. The idea, is to have any excess water go down the weeping pipe instead of through our concrete wall, which apparently was set incorrectly. Two of the three are done and we are also sloping dirt away from our house under the deck so we are also shoveling away. Then at night I went canoeing for 1.5 hours solo. Then to Earls for my Uncle's birthday supper. I had the usual, the full rack of ribs and potatoes, mmmmmmmm so good. But I also ordered a Guiness for some reason and it well tasted like Guiness.

Hope you have a good week all.

Tired

Sorry about it being a While since i've blogged but I've been busy and Not had a good Chance to sit down and type. Well I've been busy emptying out our basement of all of the stuff we have in storage down there. A lot of lifting boxes and rubbermaid containers. Well I have also started to canoe again, there is a race this weekend as in later today and I'm racing with Eddie and it should be a good time. Sunday I'm also racing but going to go solo.

This past night i got back from DJing a wedding at the Raddison. I really like it there. Nice facility there. The dance wasn't all that special but it was a fairly good night. They had an interlude of Irish Dancing as the bride teaches it. it was good dancing and then they went out and got people from the audience to dance and it was a good laugh. Karen you would of loved it.

Also I may stop putting pictures in with all my blog posts. I'll replace them with Calvin & Hobbes comics. Well more will come when I'm not to tired.

Live8

So yesterday I totally forgot to mention I was watching Live8. It was amazing. So I recorded It from when Bon Jovi was playing in Philly to the end of the best of show on CTV. Seeing all the stuff was great, Randy Bachman, Robbie Williams, Sting, Pink Floyd, Madonna, Sir Paul McCartney. It was great. I saw most of the Barrie concert but only saw parts of the London one, I'm really hoping that they come out with a DVD of all the concerts. My favourite act, Defiantly Rob Williams and then Randy Bachman playing Takin' Care of Business.

Well DJing is going well and I've got an Interview on Tuesday so i've got a hopefully happy week ahead of myself. More updates later this week.

Pilsner, Great Western Style

Well I must say this is a bizzare situation I have found myself in. It is currently 6:58. And I set up this dance at 7. Well I guess i'll keep typeing then. I'm currently in Foam Lake "The Best Place To Live In The World", I think that's a lot to live up too for a small town as the Co-op was closed at it was only 6:30. I've got a 5 hour dance to DJ with apparently a lot of polka's to play, but not german polka's. I'm going to playing a lot of disk 7 i think tonight.

Well now it's 7 and still nothing Hmmmmmm. Well i'll play the more waiting game.

So last night in my conversation with Jack. Apparently GW Pilsner is now one of the top 10 selling beers in Saskatchewan. That's so cool. From what i've tasted I still say it tastes like beer. But whatever. But then it brought me to think of what the top 10 selling beers are. So here my attempted list. i only know of two that are actually on the list

-GW Light
-GW Pilsner
-Molson
-Labbat
-Labbat Light?
-Budweiser
-Pilsner
-Coors Light?

Ohhh hurray a truck just pulled up.

-Kokanee
-MDG

Hooray Batman I got 10.

Well I'm now continuing this from after the dance which was mostly borring as people didn't want to dance. Play a bunch of country and the odd time people would dance. Only got like 12 requests. Well I'm falling asleep so here's to later.

Canada Day!

Ok So this past night was just so very very very bizzare. From getting stuck at Jack's in the rain to well getting a ride home with Russ (Thanks again Russ) it was a crazy but fun night. Well we are taking apart one of our walls in our house so that it will stop leaking. and hopefully it can be fixed without any outside work being done.

Well that's all. Next blog will be from Foam Lake / Humbolt.
