I'm Crazy

So last night I had this weird idea, "I want to go for a run" is what my brain was telling me. Now this is not a normal though of my brain. I hate running, I only do it when I'm forced to. So I get this idea while I'm studying at school so it wasn't until 11:30 that I get home. So I leave my house at 11:40 for my run which i would make at least 40 min. So I start running north along Spadina then in between ball crescent and the BNR (Sewage treatment plant) I then realized though as i got further away from the street that i was running out of light. So i just keep going assuming that i can't get lost really. I just can't see the packed snow and it was just about midnight so all the houses were dark. but then this one was like shining brightly and I
could see the trail, it was awesome. Then it hit me. Every single house i had so far passed was dead with the lights out; however, the Kesler house was the exact opposite with what appeared to be only 2 of the many windows not having any light coming from them. So maybe the Keslers are vampires or something, all I know is it helped me see where I was going. I then ran along through some parks and it was awesome. Running through the puddles not giving a hoot and doing sprints where the pain wouldn't stop. It was just awesome. I finally end it by doing a 200 meter uphill sprint where i know there is no way I'm going to be able to finish it at full strength. I just did it anyway then while i did the quick jog back from that hill i realized as I passed Shawn's house that I would have to be back there in less than 8 hours. I get home 45 minutes later, my shoes frozen solid from all the puddles I ran though. I get downstairs and change, eat some cold leftovers, then once i was back to resting pulse rate I hit the sack. I don't know how making your self feel like shit can make you feel so good but somehow it just does.

Later all.

P.S. (This was written while my pulse was not at resting heart rate and may be hard to follow)

Photo Montage

So I was sitting around after studying tonight thinking, hmmm I need to update my blog with some new pictures from some recent events. Then i thought about all the pictures that haven't made the cut. So Instead of posting just 3 or 4 pictures. I've posted basically 155 photos in a short video (about 8.2 Minutes so iTunes tells me). Now if there are any pictures you want to see or have a copy of just ask me to send you it. Cause I think you all need a copy james doing something stupid. Now this is also in what is supposed to be a Random order. I just have no idea how random you'll find them.

So I present to you a little photo montage of pictures that exist on my computer. Hope you all enjoy. (Don't worry Karen, I'll still post some more pictures.)

    Vote Ring!

This is a quick message to all you people that are in the college of Arts and Sciences. Vote for Jeremy Ring as your VP Social.

Now I normally couldn't care less about the ASSU elections; however, I have know Jeremy and he is one smart and social cookie. He's been to just about all of our free beer nights this year and witnessed me do dumb things on Golf Crawl.

Plus I took the picture that is on his campaign posters so go out and vote.

He even glows in the dark.

Best of luck to you Jeremy

    St Patty's

Tonight was a good night. But best of all i have to mention Fargo. I have never seen the movie Fargo and upon me first seeing it. It was an awesome movie, The kind you love to watch while not wearing pants (Reference to what it now says in Karen's house). No pants are always never a good thing when you first see the movie. Or there might be this awkwardness between you and your television. So remember. Keep you pants on until you have seen the movie a few times or you need to sign something crazy in somebody's basement. I'm just going finish by saying after examining the movie very well that I want to see it again and again and check out all the features of the DVD.

    That's all for now.
I'll extend the most once I get some more homework done.

    My Birthday!

    It's my birthday.

Well today, March 9th 1986 I was born at around 2:30 AM!

And right now I'm sitting in my Geophysics class taught by Sam Butler who also skis. So instead of Prof Butler he is known to me as Sam. Unfortunately 1.5 hours ago we went to louis where Ian Farthing (Picture following somewhere) bought me 3 shots of tequila. Along with a pint of beer and a shot courtesy of louis, then a shot of 151 from Beatty. Lets say I'm quite Festive right now.

I am so looking forward tonight and seeing all those who come. I have no idea how many people will show up but I'm hoping for a good time by playing plenty of pool! I wish you could get a picture of me now cause i must look like the most involved person in geophysics right now. I have yet to fall asleep!

Well I did fall asleep in that class and really severely it would appear. Well more to come after the pictures.

Well I really now feel old. And i realize there no pictures. You'll all have to wait.

    A Response

This is a response to my thoughts and what Karen wrote about on her site.

I may piss a lot of people off with this one so you are warned. And you might have had to gone to high school with me to really understand.

    "The Group" = Dead;

I am making this claim as it's been months since it's done anything and as it it is unfortunate it may also be a good thing. Originally there was a group of friends and what happened is that like an onion (Onion's are round and as I'm trying to use circle for the metaphor, then cake wouldn't work). It started with circle of friends that was added too, and now the layers that were added no longer exist and the core remains. We have also together given up the drive to do anything as I paraphrase an earlier conversation. Once you get to the 3rd person who's not available you just stop trying even though there could be another 5 people down the list the failures in the first 3 make you just want to stop. And being given the choice of bars, college events, parties, Tim Hortons, and Board games; we are selective in what we want to do the most and not the first thing that is presented. I for one am just as guilty as I'm not really in a social position during the winter ski season. I also know though that I haven't really been contacted that often from "the group" in terms of social activities. Now I'm not looking to restart the group as I don't think it can be done. We all now have new established friends from school and it's hard to remember those you don't always interact with everyday, myself being a prime example, the only person I know I will see everyday is Shawn as we carpool. What I am proposing is a Funeral. I'll start with a definition

    Fu-ner-al
    noun
The ceremonies honouring a dead person, typically involving burial or cremation.

Now I want to focus on one word in that definition, honouring. We had fun! I can recall many a stupid things we did, Blair's fire torch thinggie, our inability to make decisions on what we should do and ending up at Tim's, etc. So I call for a Funeral to celebrate and honour what we had and to see each other before we get into our summer jobs near or far and our finals that cause us to loose sleep and our hair lines to recede. Cause I have no idea what is up with pretty much anybody. Apparently people are engaged, going go quebec, and many other things that I know nothing about and I still care and want to know about these things.

Or it's a stupid Idea and I'll be the only one there.

    Who's With me?

    The Drive Home

    Happy Birthday Erika!!

Well The last post was on the drive up. Now I'm on the drive home. It was a good weekend a good race except for my performance. An old recurring injury of mine forced me to quit the race with 15km left. It was hard to make that decision but considering my right elbow hurt like a bitch and couldn't put any force through it was horrible. And what's funny about this injury is that normally it doesn't hurt except when i ski, but this time it hurt last night and again this morning. So I'm probably going to have to go see somebody about this as it's done this for years. Normally starting to hurt after 1.5 hours of skiing. So lets get this fixed.

Nathan And Barret Before the Race.

Nathan and Barret After the Race.

(Nathan actually just ended up basically passing out on the bed. I woke up at 2 and he still wasn't under any covers or anything.

My new ski poles that I bought the other day are nice and I'm glad that I bought them. They were awesome once I got used to them about 5 km into the race. It's bad though because I now want to buy a bunch of new equipment next year which should make Eb's happy but Break my wallet. I can already estimate it would cost me over 2000$. But then I realize how much I've already spent on skis and that isn't that much compared to what i've already spent.

Now on to the race. If you haven't skied the Saskaloppet and most of you haven't. IT's basically a very flat course for the first 24km then it's 11 km of hard hard hills on what will be the location for the 2008 Westerns then it's a 20 km ski back to the start with the last 10 km being the same first 10 km you skied out on. and you start and finish on the lake. So it's flat and in the open so the last 3 km can get depressing by going in a straight flat line for ever. It was during the really hilly section that my elbow started to hurt like i has in the past but then it was once we got past them that it really didn't want me to keep on going.

But now to some crazy idea's of mine. A while back Wayne, Mike, and I made a stupid music video for Weapon of Choice where I danced like Christopher Walken. Well now I really want to do some more of those. Especially Is this the way to amarillo around campus during the day. the problem is I don't have a video camera so if any body out there wants to make some stupid music video's and has a camera (Cough Cough, Wayne, Sarah, Erika) I'd be very grateful.

Now one thing I've noticed now that I'm back into the grind of school is that I am not noticing the lack of my social life as much. I've realized that my social life is at school so by not being there for a week like over the break it kinda goes all to shit.

P.S. Golf Crawl, March 10th. I'm going, Come to Celebrate my birthday and try to make Par.

Well I've hit the city Limits. More to come this week.

Stuff Watched While Writing this Post:

    Christopher Walken Cowbell - SNL
    Mario Unleashed
    Call On Me
    Satisfaction
Is this the way to Amarillo
Kermit The Frog on the Daily Show
'Jed' [Music Video made on an Apple II]

    The Drive Up

Have you ever noticed that when you feel like blogging you aren't anywhere near an internet connection? I'm currently on my drive up to the Saskaloppet in La Ronge Saskatchewan. This year I'm doing the 55km Race as opposed to the 2 day 80km marathon where you have to carry all of your gear. It was 100km last year to celebrate the centennial of the province. It a fun event but due to not wanting to miss any more school I'm sticking to the 55km race which is a first for me. I've only done the 35km race and the 80km Saskquatch, and the 100km Marathon. So hopefully All goes well, from what I've heard you basically ski in a pack for the race, so I'll be skiing with Robin, Barret, Ken, and Nathan.

(Last years Saskaloppet, me with Rob Howse)

I spend way too much time waxing my skis last night too. It was a first for me, I wore a mask. It's wierd to breath in one of those for a few hours. So Here are a few pics of me last night.

Well Apple the other day released a new Mac Mini that I now want to get. I know that computers will only get better but right now I would love to have a new iMac, MacBook Pro and Mac Mini. One for the TV, one for home and one for portable. Then again I don't have the money to afford any of this.

I've been thinking about work this summer and right now I'm hopefully close to landing a job tree planting for the same company that nathan worked for last year. He made around 7500 and I'm hoping I can do the same as that or more. I'll have to see how it starts and what kind of terrain we are working but I'm going to have a goal of making more than 8000. Now This job is going to suck, I know that. I'm not really looking foreword to everything crappy about it but I already have a tent that works, boots that are nice, and enough camping experience to have been through thunderstorms at altitude, mosquitoes that you had to push out of the way cause they were in your path, and soaking wet canoe trips. Now this is also a bad thing. I've already determined how I'm going to spend almost all of that money. So maybe I'll forget about how i'd spend it until I actually have the money. I've just got too many things to fix. Darn 22 year old cars, The Jetta is now officially 22 Years old as it was purchased in Feb of 84 by my parents. It's only ever had one owner and it's at 421000+km.

The rest of this will just be my randomness of thoughts that I need and want to get out.

    Cellphone:
I've been thinking of getting a cell phone. I really like the Motorola SLVR or the RZARc. You can't yet get the SLVR on Sasktel's network yet so that sucks as I really don't want to go with anybody else. Now the model of phone doesn't really matter but Why would I need one. Now from what I've noticed I'm normally the person calling people and rarely get called. So what's the point of me getting a cell phone. If I'm only making calls then I can just use the system of Pay-phones to do that. So I really don't know what I will do, other than I won't be getting any phone till after the summer. And I can only think about really one time where I've needed one and that's because Jack Mason couldn't find me at Free Beer so called my dad's to locate me. I was going to provincials so couldn't go, but to have that happen does make you wonder about the intents of Jack, maybe he thinks I'm still in first year and have friends that are female first years. So tell me what you think. Should I get a Cell Phone?

Side-note: My sister just asked me to write that "Alison's Awesome", followed by Geoff saying, "Geoff's Better"
    (Them from last years Saskaloppet)

Another Big thing that i just found out about is my finals. My 3 hardest finals will be on the 10th ,11th , and 12th. I am NOT happy about this. Math is right in the middle of that too. So I'm now thinking that this will be the plan for my birthday. I WILL! i repeat WILL be doing something on the night of the 9th. Then Friday I'll be going to hear Lance talk during the afternoon, THEN that night I will be GOING, i repeat GOING on Golf Crawl. Then Saturday I Probably Will go out AGAIN to do something. Then I will not go out again till the night of the 15th of April, the night of my last final. So this is my plan. Skiing will be over. I'll be studying Like a rented donkey and training for tree planting. (I actually have a tree planting training plan). So Everybody, NEXT WEEK! We'll do something!

I'm now really into listening to the Barenaked Ladies again. They released a bunch of music onto iTunes which I can't buy due to lack of credit card. But they now have a Podcast. It's mostly Ed but also all of them at the studio while the record more stuff. It's cool to listen to the process in which albums are created. So fish out that old BNL album and Listen to it.
"Chickadee Chine of the Chinese Chicken, You have a drumstick and your brain stops ticking"

Some other stuff that happened today, "This being Friday". We got stunted by the Gym Teachers today (Kinesiology) and they made a Baseball diamond in our lounge, So we proceeded to have a game of baseball. We even invited the Kinns over to play a game but they never showed up.

Also, A new Red vs Blue episode came out today or yesterday so I throughly enjoyed watching that. I've recently gotten into the video podcasts. I have a few ones that are hilarious.
Rocketboom is a fake news program.
Strongbad Email's formatted for your iPod.
    macTV Videocast.
    MacBreak
    &
    Ask a Ninja

Ask A Ninja is hilarious. He basically remind me of what Slacker Brad would be like if Caffeine still effected him. It's just total stupidity from a Ninjas point of view. He sums up pod-casting to giving Apple Pies to Whales.

Well that's all for me tonight from the back seat of Geoff's 03 Jetta TDI.

Songs and Video listened to and watched while I've typed this.
